Site Prep and Concrete Removal in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Demolition, removal and subgrade preparation on large projects.

Poured concrete foundation walls on a construction site

Scope

We remove existing concrete and masonry on large projects and prepare the area for new work: slab and foundation demolition, curb and apron removal, sawcutting, haul-off, and subgrade and stone base preparation.

This scope is tied to new construction. We bid removal when it leads into a foundation, slab, site concrete or masonry package, and we coordinate disposal and recycling through the GC.

Typical Project Types

  • Slab and foundation removal before new construction
  • Warehouse floor removal and replacement prep
  • Curb, apron and site concrete removal on commercial lots
  • Subgrade and stone base preparation
  • Demolition ahead of additions and large builds

How We Run This Scope

  1. 1. Bid review

We review demolition drawings, existing conditions and hazardous material reports, and confirm what is in our scope and what the owner has already surveyed.

  2. 2. Takeoff

We take off removal by square footage and thickness, volume of debris, sawcut footage, haul-off, and stone base quantities.

  3. 3. Scheduling with the GC

We schedule removal ahead of the new work with the GC, agreeing on utility locates, truck routes, and haul-off windows.

  4. 4. Crew and equipment

We assign crews and equipment sized to the removal volume and reach, and plan sawcutting, breaking and loading sequences.

  5. 5. Quality control

We verify sawcut lines, control dust and debris, and check subgrade elevations and compaction before turning the area over.

  6. 6. Closeout

We clear debris, document disposal tickets as required, and walk the prepared area with the GC for acceptance.

Coordination

We coordinate utility locates, shutoffs, haul-off routes and disposal with the GC and owner, and protect adjacent structures and finished work.

Safety

Demolition requires exclusion zones, dust control and trained operators. We follow the GC safety plan and keep the public and other trades clear of the work area.

Questions from GCs and Owners

What removal scopes do you take?

Large removal scopes that lead into new construction, such as a full slab, a foundation or a commercial site area.

Who handles disposal?

Disposal and recycling are coordinated in the bid. We state whether haul-off and tickets are included.

Can you prepare the subgrade for the new slab?

Yes. We can include stone base and compaction so removal and new work follow one another.

What about hazardous materials?

Surveys and abatement are owner or GC responsibilities. We ask for reports before pricing and stop and report if something unexpected is found.

Related Services

We focus on commercial projects and large residential builds: full foundations, large flatwork, commercial block and masonry, and large patios. We do not take small repair jobs such as single sidewalk panels, patching, or minor touch-ups.
