Concrete

Commercial Site Concrete in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, loading docks, and dumpster and equipment pads.

Concrete sidewalk and accessible ramp at a commercial building

Scope

We place the concrete that surrounds a commercial building: sidewalks and walkways, curb and gutter, ADA ramps and landings, loading docks and aprons, dumpster enclosures and equipment pads. We bid it as a complete site package.

Site concrete is detailed work. Slopes, landings, detectable warnings and joint spacing come from the site plan and accessibility requirements, and we build to them.

Typical Project Types

  • Retail and office site packages
  • Loading docks and truck aprons
  • ADA ramps, landings and curb ramps
  • Dumpster enclosure pads and equipment pads
  • Curb and gutter on new commercial lots

How We Run This Scope

  1. 1. Bid review

We review site, grading, and detail sheets and the accessibility requirements, and list the quantities and pay items that we will price.

  2. 2. Takeoff

We take off sidewalk area, curb footage, ramp counts, dock and apron areas, pads, reinforcing, joint and sealant quantities.

  3. 3. Scheduling with the GC

We schedule forming and pours behind rough grading and utilities, ahead of paving, and agree on sequence with the GC, with phasing around tenants when needed.

  4. 4. Crew and equipment

We assign forming and finishing crews with the tools and mix delivery needed for each area, and plan for curing and cold weather protection.

  5. 5. Quality control

Forms are checked for line, grade and slope. Ramp slopes and landings are verified before pouring, and finishing, joints and curing are completed to specification.

  6. 6. Closeout

We strip forms, backfill edges as scoped, clean the work area and walk the site with your team. Punch items are completed promptly.

Coordination

We coordinate with the paving, utility, landscape and electrical contractors on grades, sleeves, light pole bases and phasing so site concrete stays on schedule.

Safety

Work near live traffic and active tenants is staged with barricades and flaggers in line with the GC plan. Concrete deliveries are routed to keep pedestrian paths protected.

Questions from GCs and Owners

What size of site concrete project do you take?

We take commercial and large site packages: full sidewalk runs, curb lines, ramps, docks and pads for a building or development. Our services page states exactly what we do and do not take.

Can you build ADA ramps to code?

We build ramps and landings to the slopes and dimensions on the drawings, and verify them before the pour.

Can you work around operating tenants?

Yes. We phase pours, protect entrances and agree on work hours with the owner or manager.

Do you pour loading docks?

Yes. Dock walls, aprons and approach slabs are part of our site concrete scope, built to the structural and civil details.

Related Services

We focus on commercial projects and large residential builds: full foundations, large flatwork, commercial block and masonry, and large patios. We do not take small repair jobs such as single sidewalk panels, patching, or minor touch-ups.
